These terms cover your use of the TapTrans app. The part most worth reading is the section on your balance: it is prepaid service credit rather than money, and it is forfeited if you delete your account.

The service

TapTrans provides AI-assisted translation of voice, text and images, billed against a prepaid balance. By using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.

You need an Apple ID to sign in, and you must be old enough to hold one in your country.

Translation quality

Machine translation gets things wrong. TapTrans makes no guarantee that a translation is accurate, complete or suitable for any particular purpose.

Do not rely on TapTrans for legal, medical, financial or safety-critical decisions. Use a qualified human translator when the consequences of a mistake matter.

Balance and purchases

Top-ups are sold as Apple in-app purchases. Apple processes the payment and we credit the corresponding amount to your balance.

Your balance is prepaid service credit, not money. It cannot be transferred to another account, withdrawn, or exchanged for cash, and it is not refundable except where the law or Apple's own policies require it.

Each translation deducts an amount that reflects what the request cost us to serve, so a long recording costs more than a short one. The app shows you the charge for every translation.

Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — request one through Apple's own process. If Apple refunds a purchase, we deduct the credit it created from your balance. If you have already spent it, your balance can go negative, and you will need to top up past zero before translating again.

We may change prices or the amount of credit a purchase provides. Changes never affect credit you have already bought.

Free credit

New accounts receive a small amount of free credit, once, so you can try the app. It is granted per person, not per account: deleting your account and signing up again does not produce a second grant.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

use the service to break the law, or to produce or distribute material that is illegal where you are;
automate, script, resell or proxy the service, or use it as a translation backend for another product;
attempt to bypass billing, rate limits or authentication, or probe our infrastructure for weaknesses;
submit content you have no right to submit.

We may suspend or terminate an account that does any of these. Where abuse is clear, we may do so without notice.

Availability

TapTrans depends on third-party AI providers and on the internet. We do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may take the service down for maintenance. If a translation fails, you are not charged for it.

Account deletion

You may delete your account at any time in the app. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone, and any remaining balance is forfeited.

We may terminate an account for breach of these terms. If we terminate an account that has not broken them, we will refund the unused balance where we are able to.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, TapTrans is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under the law where you live, including consumer rights.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new version.
